An ex-council member of Atlanta has declared that there will be no Kanye West Day due to his recent controversies. The former council member Natalyn Archibong is distancing herself, stating that she wouldn’t bestow the honor now.
Archibong was part of the Atlanta City Council that decided to honor the rapper last year. Ye was born in the city, so she felt it was okay to honor him with one day in his birth home.
Sadly, the fashion designer’s disturbing headlines have forced the ex-council member to bid him bye, hence, no Kanye West Day this year. Archibong went as far as stating that she doesn’t need an explanation about the rapper’s attitude.
Kanye West has always occupied the special section in controversial headlines. He upped it in his show at the Paris Fashion Week. The rapper has since faced several backlashes. However, he isn’t taking the back seat.
No More KANYE WEST DAY Due to His Recent Controversies
This period is somehow for the rapper, and it’ll make sense for him to calm down. But it’s like he’s bent on playing the same wing in the media, the villain. Since his “White Lives Matter” shirt display at PFW, it has been from one issue to another for Ye.
Khloe Kardashian, his ex-wife’s sister, called him out for dragging their family when he tried to deflect blame about his ‘WLM’ ish. He also blasted a VOGUE editor who talked about his stunt at the PFW, which got everyone talking. These are a few, among others.
Fast forward to this Monday on the new ‘Drink Champs’ with the rapper. He talked about George Floyd, Pete Davidson, and Kim Kardashian. His comment on the show forced Archibong to withdraw and state that there will be no Kanye West Day.
The rapper’s day was formed on July 22 last year following his Donda tour launch in Atlanta. Archibong stated that the proclamation couldn’t be repeated. It was made because of his mother and an acknowledgment of his substantial contribution to the arts.
The ex-council member claimed that the music star wasn’t expected to make such comments in 2022. Therefore, no Kanye West Day going forward.
Nay, Ye!
