This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Vanilla is a cooking ingredient inย Disney Dreamlight Valleyย that players will need to make various recipes, such as Vanilla Ice Cream and Wonderland Cookies. This ingredient is also required for making a special beverage called Extra Fizzy Root Beer. This drink is not for consumption but is instead used during the “Nature & Nurture” quest with Scar, during which players must trigger a chemical reaction usingย Extra Fizzy Root Beerย and Candy. To unlock the recipe for this beverage, players must explore the mining camp within the Vitalys Mines of the Sunlit Plateau to find a green chest that contains the recipe book.ย ย

Finding Vanilla in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Sunlit Plateau Map in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To find Vanilla inย Disney Dreamlight Valley, players will need to gain access to the Sunlit Plateau biome. Those progressing through “Nature & Nurture” will already have unlocked this area, but newcomers will need to spend 7,000 Dreamlight toย remove the Night Thornsย blocking this biome’s entrance.

Most players know what Vanilla looks like in real life but perhaps have never seen the plant it grows from. Therefore, fans might have trouble finding Vanilla in the Sunlit Plateau ofย Disney Dreamlight Valley. Of course, this is no problem for those who forage and pick up every object in sight. Nevertheless, for clarification, Vanilla appears as a small leafy plant with a viny stem that slightly spirals upward. It will be growing out of a small mound of dirt that elevates the plant, making it easy to see amongst the grass and over the other foliage in the biome.

It should be noted that Vanilla inย Disney Dreamlight Valleyย is categorized as a Spice, not a crop. Thus, it is not possible to obtain seeds to plant this ingredient. The only way to get it is by scouring the land of the Sunlit Plateau and harvesting any wild Vanilla that might spring up from the soil. While the respawn time for this Spice is unknown, players should not have to wait too long before it appears in the Plateau’s wilderness inย Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
