It’s been a year since we heard about the Microsoft – Activision Blizzard acquisition. We heard a lot about both companies’ relationships and how Microsoft will direct Activision Blizzard. Our biggest fear was Call of Duty’s Xbox exclusivity, but then we heard solid promises from both companies. To make these words official and get approbation from the EU, Microsoft and Sony will go into a deal that is valid for ten years. This was expected to get trusted by gamers and have the official promise to the countries to approve the acquisition. Here are the details about the Microsoft – Activision Blizzard deal, with ways to reflect the gaming.

The acquisition isn’t completed yet. That’s because the deal should be investigated by the countries in which Activision Blizzard operates. Every administration isn’t welcome this kind of deal. Microsoft and Sony are two big rivals in the gaming console market, and the administration needs solid promises to keep the competition balanced. Microsoft might find executive Activision directly against its rival Sony, which would harm consumers. As The New York Times’s report says, Microsoft offered Sony the ten-years deal to show their trust.

The acquisition’s review is already completed in a few countries like Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Serbia. United States government is still investigating with ten staff especially focused on this deal. Microsoft said that they aim to buy Activision Blizzard isn’t making Call of Duty an Xbox exclusive. Their aim is to be more active in the mobile games market. Activision Blizzard is also the owner of Candy Crush, which is one of the biggest mobile games of all time. They also said that they want to make the games more accessible, not less.
