Pokémon Scarlet and Violet feature Pokémon like Torkoal, which are rare to find when it comes to spawning. Torkoal is not new by any means, and it is one of the Pokémon that lacks an evolutionary line. So, there is no need to work on finding anything special once you catch Torkoal. However, it’s the finding part that some players can find difficult. We’ll show you where to look to find Torkoal so you can enjoy this slow-moving Pokémon.

Find Torkoal in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Find Torkoal

Torkoal is a Fire-type Pokémon, and the Pokédex indicates that they are rarely seen. So, you won’t see them just prancing about. A 3rd Generation Pokémon, Torkoal is only found in a single location:

  • East Province (Area Three)

As we mentioned, Torkoal doesn’t spawn often. Surprisingly, though, as a rather shy Pokémon, Torkoal is simple to approach. So, once you find Torkoal in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can easily engage.

Remember that Torkoal is a Fire-type. So, if you want to wear them down quickly in battle, remember to use Water, Rock, or Ground-type Pokémon. This way, you’ll have Torkoal weak enough to catch, so you can add another solid Fire-type to your bag.

Plus, Torkoal is the only way you can get the item Torkoal Coal for a TM recipe.

With Torkoal joining your roster, you have a classic Pokémon with some reliable stats. They’re good if you want to build on the Fire-types you have. Let’s check out their stats below:

  • HP: 70
  • Attack: 85
  • Defense: 140
  • Special Attack: 85
  • Special Defense: 70
  • Speed: 20

In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Torkoal is as slow as the turtle it resembles. However, they have an incredible starting Defense stat. This is why you should take care of what Pokémon you use when you attempt to battle and catch one. Torkoal can hold its own in battle, and the defense makes up for the lower HP.

At the same time, this makes Torkoal dependable as a tank. Although they don’t have any evolutions, you can still level them up to improve their stats. Once they reach Level 50, you’ll have a good Fire-type to take into battle. Take a look at the max stats you can get:

  • HP: 177
  • Attack: 150
  • Defense: 211
  • Special Attack: 150
  • Special Defense: 134
  • Speed: 79

So, consider finding the rare Torkoal as early as you can in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to work on improving their base stats fast.
