How To Find and Catch Chi-Yu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Do you want to know how to find and catch Chi-Yu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? A bunch of new Pokemon have arrived in the open world of Paldea in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Eighty of them, to be precise.

One of them is the Legendary Dark-and Fire-type Pokemon Chi-Yu. One of the four Pokemon from the Treasures of Ruin has made its way into the gen nine Pokemon. It is very potent, albeit tricky to catch. This guide will show you how to find and catch Chi-Yu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How to Find Chi-Yu?

Paldea is richer for a Legendary Pokemon. However, to find Chi-Yu, you must climb the step heights of Fury Falls waterfall in North Province. You will find a small cave that then opens into a bigger cavern. On the wall of the game, you will notice a blue seal.

The seal is the key to Chi-Yu, but you can’t open it as you need to find eight mysterious blue Ominous Stakes scattered around Paldea. Once you get those stakes, you can unlock the seal and catch Chi-Yu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, you need to know that Chi-Yu’s Ominous Stakes are available only after you complete the main Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Story.

How to Get Chi-Yu?

Now that you know what to do to unlock Chi-Yu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it is time to look for that eight Blue Ominous Stake. Luckily, we are here for you.

1. First, the Ominous Stake is located south of a river that flows east of Glaseado mountain. You will find it at the top of the grassy hill in the North Province of Area One. 
2. The second Ominous Stake can be found on a cliff between a small lake and Glaseado Mountain. 
3. This one is an easy catch. The third Ominous Blue Stake is next to a three in Tagtree Thicket on a cliff found north of the river. 
4. This one is a bit tricky. It is where Frigibax and Baxcalibur spawn, south of Glaseado Mountain, between trees on a grass cliff. 
5. Next, head Northeast of Lavincia Town and find the stake on a cliff in the East Province of Area Two. 
6. The sixth Ominous Blue Stake is in the North Province of Area Two, in ruins north of the river. This will bring you a step closer to catching Chi-Yu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. 
7. The penultimate blue stake is located northeast of the North Province Area Two Pokemon Center. You will find it near a cliff next to a tree. 
8. The eighth Blue Ominous Stake is on a cliff on a trail path to the jagged black peak of Fury Falls. 

Now that you have all Ominous Blue Stakes, you need to head to the cave where you found the blue seal on the wall. You will open the Firescourage Shrine and engage in a battle with Chi-Yu. To catch Chi-Yu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you just need to defeat it.

Being a Legendary Pokemon, what follows won’t be an easy fight. Chi-Yu will slash you with its Beads of Ruin Ability. Prepare a good team of Pokemon that are strong against Fire-and Dark-type moves that Chi-Yu possesses.
