Bisharp Evolution in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Bisharp is a Dark- and Steel-type Sword Blade Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that serves as the second member in the Pawniard family. Evolving Pawniard into Bisharp requires that the small Sharp Blade pocket monster reach Level 52. On the other hand, the transformation from Bisharp into Kingambit is not related to simple leveling and requires a more complex process. Nevertheless, the result is well worth the effort, as the Big Blade Kingambit possesses an Attack IV of 135, one of the highest Attack stats of all Steel-type pocket monsters in-game. Therefore, knowing how to evolve Bisharp into this powerful fighter is something that every Trainer is encouraged to know.

Finding and Evolving Bisharp in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Finding a Bisharp Holding a Leader's Crest in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Before Trainers can evolve Bisharp in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they must know where they can find this Dark- and Steel-type Sword Blade Pokémon in the world map of Paldea. Wild Bisharps only appear within the bamboo forests in Area Two of the North Province on the northeastern corner of Paldea.

While it is possible to instead catch Pawniard and evolve it into Bisharp via leveling in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Trainers must acquire a specific Held Item only possessed by Wild Bisharps. This item is known as the Leader’s Crest and serves as the key for the Sword Blade Pokémon’s evolution into Kingambit. According to YouTube content creator Skwizzit, players must search North Province (Area Two) for a Wild Bisharp surrounded by multiple Pawniards. These particular Bisharps have a high chance of spawning with a Leader’s Crest in their inventory.

Once a Wild Bisharp with a Leader’s Crest has been captured, the next step for evolving it into Kingambit is defeating three other Bisharps with a Leader’s Crest in battle in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Naturally, this prerequisite involves finding other Pawniard-leading Bisharps and defeating them using the captured Bisharp holding the Leader’s Crest. Alternatively, it is possible to use the Switcheroo Move and give the Leader’s Crest to a lone Wild Bisharp without Pawniards. Defeating three Bisharps with one’s Bisharp via this method will also clear the evolution requirement into Kingambit. However, keep in mind that two Leader’s Crests will be needed for this approach, as the players’ Bisharp must always be holding their Leader Crest when defeating another Wild Bisharp.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
