To successfully battle and use Dunsparce, you should know their weakness as much as their strength in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It can be tough when facing a Pokémon with traits you don’t understand. Some opponents can cause massive damage to your specific type of Pokémon. Meanwhile, your type might not do any harm to your opponent. When it comes to Dunsparce, you do get a bit more freedom whether you’re fighting against one or using one. We’ll explain their weakness to better help you work with this Pokémon.

Dunsparce Weakness in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Dunsparce Weakness

When you’re not rushing off to take an exam for school, you’re out there doing what you’re meant to do: encounter Pokémon. From wild battles to trainers, you’re not always ready when the time comes. So, a guide on specific weaknesses can help, as in the case with the elusive Dunsparce.

As a Normal-type Pokémon, Dunsparce is rather standard to use. These types don’t have any specific strengths. So, they can perform average against a host of different Pokémon. In this case, it all boils down to their level.

However, Dunsparce does have a singular weakness in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Fighting.

So, if you want an easy fight against Dunsparce, just pull out your Fighting-type Pokémon or a Pokémon that knows reliable Fighting moves. The following Pokémon are ideal to handle Dunsparce:

  • Lucario
  • Heracross
  • Annihilape
  • Pawmot
  • Koraidon

Koraidon might be a bit of an overkill seeing as they are a Legendary Pokémon. However, as long as your chosen companion has Fighting-type moves, they can take advantage of Dunsparce’s weakness in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It can make for a quicker battle whether against a wild Pokémon or another trainer.

Also, if encountered near the beginning, Dunsparce has some lower base stats that are simple to get by with the right companion:

  • HP: 100
  • Attack: 70
  • Defense: 70
  • Special Attack: 65
  • Special Defense: 65
  • Speed: 45

Since Dunsparce only has one weakness, you can actually use them a bit more against every type besides Fighting. Dunsparce can serve as a decent companion to whittle down an opponent as well, considering that they know some Ground, Rock, and even Poison moves.

So, don’t let their lack of strength keep you away. Once you know how to utilize Dunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can get past that and their weakness to make them reliable support.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is available on Nintendo Switch.
