Nymble Evolution in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

Nymble is a Bug-type Grasshopper Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that evolves into the Dark- and Bug-type Lokix after reaching Level 24. Similar to Tynamo, Nymble is a tiny pocket monster, making it quite challenging to find in the open world of Paldea. It is almost impossible to spot when stationary in tall grass but becomes more noticeable when it begins hopping like a real-world grasshopper. While Nymble is not a rare spawn, those struggling to encounter this Grasshopper Pokémon can eat an Ultra Potato Salad Sandwich or Ultra Variety Sandwich to bolster their Bug-type Encounter Power in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Finding and Evolving Nymble in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Finding Nymble in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet (Map Location)

According to Nymble’s Habitat description, it lives in “many parts of Paldea,” which is not very helpful for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet fans. Conversely, if Trainers view the visual map portion of the description, they can see that this Bug-type Grasshopper Pokémon can be found within South Province (Area Three) and West Province (Area One).

YouTuber Quick Tips recommends that Trainers search the grassy fields along the roadside of the main trail east of Cortondo. If players manage to encounter Nymble in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they can use Fire-, Flying-, or Rock-type Moves to quickly subdue the Grasshopper Pokémon. Low-level Trainers should be wary of Nymble’s Swarm ability, allowing it to deal bonus Bug-type damage when its HP is below 1/3 of its max. Of course, battling a Wild Nymble is far from challenging, but players should still be careful of its “final-stand” Move.

As noted earlier, Nymble evolves into Lokix once it reaches Level 24 in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Despite being a pocket monster that players can get reasonably early on, Lokix’s notably high Attack and Speed IVs make it an excellent Bug-type combatant for early to mid-game content. Naturally, it will become less relevant in one’s end and post-game playthrough, but Lokix still holds a place in the top 15 Bug-type Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet. One of the fastest early-game ways to level up Nymble and evolve it into Lokix is by keeping it in the active party when engaging in Wild Pokémon or NPC Trainer Battles in Paldea.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
