This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

If Trainers are looking to challenge the Gym Leader of Medali in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they must complete the town’s Gym Test, which involves uncovering information regarding the “Secret Dish.” Unlike Sandwiches that players eat for buffs, the Secret Dish is not a consumable item. Also referred to as the “secret menu item,” this meal must be ordered at the restaurant in Medali if players wish to clear the Gym Test and face the Normal-type Gym Leader. To solve the Secret Dish’s puzzle, players must find and battle several Trainers within the city to unlock hints regarding what the secret menu item is composed of.

All Clues for the Secret Dish In Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

To get started on solving the Secret Dish puzzle in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, players must defeat Medali Trainers to reveal their clues for the secret menu item’s composition. These clues can be uncovered in any order, but players must remember the answers to correctly respond to the chef’s questions in the city’s restaurant.

The first Trainer is a small girl that can be found on the right side of town. She will direct players to investigate one of the ice cream stands nearby to find Grilled Rice Balls as an odd menu item. Next, players must defeat another Trainer standing by a Lechonk on the west side. This NPC will direct the protagonists to listen to a blue bird’s comments about the second clue, “Medium.” Afterward, fans must defeat a Trainer near an amphitheater and investigate the gateway to learn “Fire Blast.”

Finally, the last clue for the Secret Dish puzzle in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet can be found in the restaurant. Head to the counter in the back and speak with the Office Worker making the noise, “munch, munch, munch.” He will mention that a squeeze of lemon will give one’s food a kick. Now, speak to the restaurant employee near the entrance and give the following answers to complete the Gym Test:

  • Response 1: Grilled Rice Balls
  • Response 2: Extra Crispy, Fire Blast Style
  • Response 3: Medium Serving
  • Response 4: Lemon

Completing this order will reveal the hidden battle arena, after which players can challenge the Medali Gym Leader.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
