One of the Mounts added in Patch 6.3: “Gods Revel, Lands Tremble” is the Blackjack Mount in Final Fantasy XIV, a massive Airship that serves as a throwback to Setzer Gabbiani’s aircraft in Final Fantasy VI. According to the lore, the Blackjack had a casino and was equipped with a functional item shop and arena where players could battle NPCs. Of course, these characteristics are not present in the FFXIV version of the Blackjack, but it still serves as a magnificent Mount that Warriors of Light can use to traverse the vast world of Eorzea and beyond.
Unlocking the Blackjack Mount in Final Fantasy XIV is straightforward, yet the procurement process is easier said than done. The item used to add the Mount to one’s character, the Blackjack Identification Key, is sold by the Prize Claim Attendant vendor in the Gold Saucer for an overwhelming price of 4,000,000 MGP.
Earning MGP in the Gold Saucer is easy, but maximizing one’s income for this zone-exclusive currency can be daunting for someone who wishes to obtain the Blackjack Mount in FFXIV. Previously, prizes like the Sabotender Emperador Mount, Cloud Strife Card, or Fenrir Mount took the crown as the most luxuriously expensive items available in the Prize Claim shop. However, the 4,000,000 MGP cost for the Blackjack is enough to make any casual faint, especially when many players have limited time on their hands to enjoy their experience in the realms of Hydaelyn.
Nevertheless, if you’re ready to farm up MGP, an ideal way is by participating in the Mini Cactpot and Jumbo Cactpot, which are available on a daily and weekly basis, respectively. Both require no effort from the player to participate and only involve “checking in” to the activities to receive free MGP. Next is the Fashion Report, which rewards players for participation and gives bonus MGP to those who go above and beyond expectations by researching the proper apparel choices via Google. These three activities should be the main focus of players looking to passively earn enough currency to buy the Blackjack Mount in FFXIV. There are other minigames, such as GATE instances, Lord of Verminion, or Chocobo Racing, but these are only recommended to those who have the extra time to actively earn MGP.
