You may not have time to bleed but you should certainly make time to check out “The Predator.” The long rumored Predator movie has finally gotten its first poster and title, “The Predator.” Way back in the middle of 2014 it was rumored that Iron Man 3 Director Shane Black was working on another Predator film. Since that time small pieces of information have come out about the potential film but now it appears the active camouflage is beginning to drop. Monster Squad Director Fredd Dekker has been working on a script with Black and wrote on Facebook last week,
“I cannot say where I was this morning, or what I saw, or what we talked about. But if you are a PREDATOR fan? One word: YES.”
The quote on the poster is a reminder to a line from The Mandarin in Iron Man 3. We can see the classic character along with the iconic Plasma Caster Shoulder Cannon. Details about the film are still sketchy but it will NOT be a reboot. Black has referred to the new movie as an “Inventive Sequel.” Going into further details he explained,
“As far as Fred and I are concerned, why start over, when you’ve all this rich mythology yet to mine? I like the idea of expanding and exploring the existing Predator mythology, rather than hitting the restart button.”
Interestingly enough this is not Black’s first go around with the Predator. In the original 1987 release starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Black was brought on to help with the writing of the script. He eventually wound up with a part in the film as well as the joke telling Hawkins. Not counting Hoppers team, Hawkins was the first victim of the camouflaged demon.
