Ilmenite in Final Fantasy XIV
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

Ilmenite is a Stone in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker that Master Blacksmiths and Armorers will need to forge Ilmenite Ingots, a Crafting Material used in a wide variety of endgame tools, weapons, and armor. Forging an Ilmenite Ingot requires five slabs of Ilmenite, two chunks of Vanadinite, three Fire Clusters, and three Earth Clusters. Vanadinite is purchasable with Astronomy Tomestones, while the elemental Clusters are obtained from the Market Board and other sources. On the other hand, Ilmenite can only be acquired from a single location on the Mare Lamentorum of the Moon.

Finding Ilmenite in Final Fantasy XIV

Before players head out to search for Ilmenite in FFXIV, they must first purchase the Tome of Geological Folklore – The Sea of Stars from the Splendors Vendor in Radz-at-Han. This Tome enables Miners to find the Legendary Node that contains Ilmenite Ore in the Mare Lamentorum. Without the Tome, users cannot interact with the node or harvest the mineral resource.

Once players have bought the required Miner’s Tome with Regional Folklore Trader’s Token C ×16, they will be able to discover and mine Ilmenite in FFXIV. According to sources at Fanbyte, the Legendary Node for Ilmenite can be found in the Mare Lamentorum at (X: 28, Y: 21) and only appears for two hours at 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m Eorzean Time. If players visit this location at a different time, they will be disappointed to find no Ilmenite at the designated spot. Therefore, it would be ideal to have a timer set up for when the in-game time is close to 8:00 a.m. or 8:00 p.m. to ensure the moment for mining Ilmenite is not missed.

Additionally, Fanbyte states that FFXIV players will need to have a Perception stat of 3,600 to gather the Ilmenite; otherwise, their attempt will fail. Reaching this requirement can be done by crafting or buying the best gear from the Market Board and ensuring the equipment is slotted with high-end Materia. Eating specific foods to gain buffs can also grant a temporary increase in Perception. If all these gathering prerequisites sound like too much of a hassle, users can also opt to buy Ilmenite directly from their server’s Market Board. However, keep in mind that prices will vary from fair to notably pricey.

Final Fantasy XIV is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
