Hogwarts Legacy will officially release on February 10th, and players around the world will be able to make their dream come true by becoming Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry students. A vast open world awaits you, filled with various quests, battles, secrets, magical beasts, and, of course, magic. Players will be able to learn various spells that can be used both in combat and in solving puzzles. But what about becoming Animagus in Hogwarts Legacy?
Animagus is a wizard or witch who can turn into a certain animal and back at any time Good examples of Animagus are Minerva McGonagall and Sirius Black, which could transform into a cat and a dog, respectively. But unfortunately, Hogwarts Legacy will not let you will not be able to become Animagus. There are several reasons for this related to lore.
Becoming an Animagus is very complex and takes a lot of time. You will need to hold a mandrake leaf in your mouth for a month and say the spell every day. Then you will have to create a potion from this leaf and a few more hard-to-get ingredients. After that, you will have to wait for a thunderstorm, even if it takes several months, to drink the potion. However, becoming an Animagus is difficult not only because of the time required but also because of the possible consequences. If a wizard or witch makes a mistake during the creation of the potion, they can suffer greatly or even turn into an animal-human hybrid forever. In other words, it’s a headache, which is why most people thought that it’s not worth it.
So, it would be incredibly difficult to add this feature to Hogwarts Legacy. And since players are just starting to learn magic, there is no way they would have been able to correctly complete all the steps to become an Animagus before the events of the game. Therefore, you cannot become an Animagus in Hogwarts Legacy. But it is worth noting that you will encounter NPCs who have mastered this ability.
