Not even Hermione used as many spells in her time at Hogwarts as we will use in Hogwarts Legacy. The game is just around the corner. After spending many hours with it, we can finally confirm all the spells and incantations it puts at our disposal.

There are more than 30 spells, among which there are clear homages to the past and a resounding absence: expecto patronum. Let’s take a look at them:

Hogwarts Legacy: All Spells and What They Do

Unforgivable curses

  • Avada Kedavra: causes instant death of the living being it hits.
  • Crucio: causes pain to those affected.
  • Imperius: used to control and manipulate the will of others.
  • Damage spells
  • Bombarda: small explosion.
  • Confringo: projectile that causes damage and has long range.
  • Diffindo: cuts and is suitable for short distances.
  • Expelliarmus: disarms enemies by making their wand jump through the air.
  • Incendio: fire, fire!
  • Basic Throw: original from Hogwarts Legacy, used to throw things and people.
  • Ancient Magic: original from Hogwarts Legacy. You have to charge a bar before using it, but afterward, it is devastating in combat.

Hogwarts Legacy: All Spells and What They Do – Essential spells

  • Accio: allows us to attract objects that are far away from us.
  • Alohomora: opens locks and doors.
  • Desmaius: stuns enemies for a few seconds.
  • The casting of ancient Magic: original from Hogwarts Legacy, summons objects and throws them at high speed.
  • Petrificus Totalus: petrifies opponents and leaves them paralyzed.
  • Protego: a protective barrier against other spells and enchantments.
  • Revelio: unveils the hidden, used to see clues in the scenery and environment.

Useful spells

  • Desilusinator: camouflages us and makes us invisible to the eyes of others, perfect for stealth.
  • Lumos is like lighting a lighter at a concert or the mobile screen in a movie theater.
  • Repair: fixes the broken and damaged.
  • Wingardium Leviosa: to lift objects and suspend them in the air.

Hogwarts Legacy: All Spells and What They Do – Control spells

  • Arresto Momentum: slows down people and objects.
  • Glacius: if the previous one was not enough, this one freezes them.
  • Levioso: wingardium for people.
  • Transformation: allow to mutate of certain things into others.

Movement spells

  • Depulse: pushes others backward.
  • Descendo: pulls enemies to the ground.
  • Flipendo: a classic from the old EA games.
  • Menesters’ Hall Hezhics

Hogwarts Legacy: All Spells and What They Do

The following can only be used in the Menesters’ Hall.

  • Summoning spell: makes what we need appear.
  • Spell of alteration: modifies or edits the appearance of things.
  • Evanesco: to make objects that we no longer want disappear.

Hogwarts Legacy is currently available on PC, PS5, and Xbox One.
