Merlin Trials in Hogwarts Legacy are Puzzle base short-timed challenges that players can complete when they progress through the game. Players can use various spells, enchantments, and magical objects to solve these puzzles. The challenges involve discovering hidden things and symbols and unlocking secret chambers. However, you will need to spend one Mallowsweet Leave every time you take a merlin challenge.

Any player must complete Merlin Trials since it is the only way to increase the Gear Slot. Once you have completed two merlin Trials, you can have four additional Gear Slots increasing the total Gear Slots from 20 to 24. Then you will get four other Gear Slots by completing each four more Merling trials up to 14 trails. To get the last four gear slots, you have to complete six trials rounding the total to 20 trials.

You can complete the Merlin Trials in Hogwarts Legacy by identifying the variation of the challenge and how you can complete them. There are around nine different variations of these trials. So, you always get one of these nine variations.

  1. A Rock with Glowing Gem inside: You must use the Lumos Spell and attract moths nearby for these challenges. Bring them to the crystals to light them up.
  2. Light Pillars: Use Confringo Spell to light up three pillars. Start with the tallest one and use your broom to travel between them since you have only 15 seconds to light up all three of them.
  3. Standing Stones: You must jump across these platforms to complete the challenge.
  4. Sockets in the ground: Use Accio spell to pull the balls toward you until they are in those sockets.
  5. Exploding Stones: Use Confringo spell to blow out stones.
  6. Repair Status: Use Reparo spell to repair Statues.
  7. Glowing Pieces: Use the Reparo spell to put pieces together.
  8. Pillars with a Ball: Use a simple basic spell to move the ball out from the post.
  9. Cubes with symbols: Use Flipendo Spell to line up the cubes. Use arrows on some cubes as a guide.
