New Perks for The Skull Merchant and Survivors in Dead by Daylight
Dead by Daylight features an upcoming new adventure with CHAPTER 27: Tools Of Torment. This chapter introduces a Brazilian cast of characters and some fun perks to experiment with. It officially releases on March 7, 2023. Before you play it, it helps to learn about all these new perks. The Killer is rated “hard,” so she won’t be simple to use right away.
On the Survivor side, there are two different characters with unique perks. So, it pays to know what you’re getting into beforehand. Let’s touch on the new perks for The Skull Merchant and then dive into the new Dead by Daylight Survivors.
All New Perks for The Skull Merchant Killer
If you purchase this new DLC in Dead by Daylight, you can enjoy some fun perks from The Skull Merchant and our terrified Survivors. For now, let’s look at just how brutal our Killer can be.
Adriana Imai, AKA The Skull Merchant, comes with these unique perks:
- THWACK!: Activates for 45/60/75 seconds once you hook a Survivor. When you break a Pallet or Breakable Wall, Survivors within 32 meters of you will scream, revealing their aura for 4 seconds.
- Leverage: Activates and gains 1 Token each time you hook a Survivor. There’s a max of 10 Tokens. Each Token reduces the Healing speed Survivors that’s stackable at 3/4/5% for the next 30 seconds. It reaches a max of 30/40/50%.
- Game Afoot: Activates when you chase your Obsession. The Survivor struck the most by your Basic Attack during a chase becomes the Obsession. After you damage a Generator, break a Pallet, or break a Breakbale Wall, you gain 5% Haste for 8/9/10 seconds.

Beyond the new Dead by Daylight perks this chapter brings for The Skull Merchant and Survivors, you get to enjoy new Killer abilities.
Her power is known as Eyes in the Sky. This allows you to begin the Trial with 4 drones, and you deploy a drone via the power button. There are 2 modes with the drone:
- Active Mode: Creates a circular Detection Zone around itself. Survivors inside gain progress for the Lock On effect. The Killer gains Undetectable status for 3 seconds.
- Scouting Mode: The drone does a sweeping scan of its surroundings. If a Survivor is detected, it switches into Active Mode.
You can use The Skull Merchant perks in Dead by Daylight alongside the drones to end Survivors. There’s a Lock On effect that builds across 10 seconds. When Locked On, it triggers Killer Instinct and makes the Survivors Exposed for 30 seconds.
There are additional interactions too like the Radar. On it, the Survivors in the Detection Zone or carrying an active Claw Trap are revealed as a dot.
Survivors can hack the drone in Scouting Mode following a quick time event, and a successful hack disables it for 10 seconds and sends it back to the Killer. However, failing it causes it to enter Active Mode and attaches a Claw Trap to the Survivor.
As for Claw Trap, it continually broadcasts a Survivors location on the Radar for 25 seconds until it runs out of battery life. Survivors can hack it too, but failing it causes it to attach and recharge +25%.
All New Perks for the Survivors in Dead by Daylight
Now that we know more about The Skull Merchant and everything she brings to the table, it’s time to check out our new Survivors.
This Dead by Daylight chapter introduces us to Thalita and Renato Lyra, twins who find themselves in a fight for their lives against the crazed Killer.
Two Survivors means two new sets of Dead by Daylight perks to using against The Skull Merchant and other Killers. Some perks play into teamwork. So, you might want to adjust your Survivor build with other characters if it focuses on being a team player.
Thalita Lyra Perks
- Friendly Competition: Increases repair speed by +5% for 45/60/75 seconds for yourself and other Survivors repairing with you.
- Teamwork: Power of Two: Activates when you heal another Survivor. This gives both you and said Survivor 5% Haste if you stay within 12 meters of each other or one loses a Health State.
- Cut Loose: Activates for 4/5/6 seconds once you rush vault during a chase. The timer resets if you perform a successful rushed vault while it’s active. It will suppress the loud noise notification and other sound effects from rush vaulting.
Renato Lyra Perks
- Blood Rush: Acitaves when you are a hook away from death. You can press the active ability button to lose a Health State but recover from the Exhausted effect. Automatically heals to healthy but causes the Broken effect for 28/24/20 seconds. Healing is canceled if you take damage.
- Teamwork: Collective Stealth: Activates when a Survivor heals you. You and said Survivor benefit from suppressed scratch marks if you stay within 12 meters of each other or one of you loses a Health State.
- Background Player: When you unhook a Survivor, you can sprint at 150% of the normal speed for 6 seconds. Causes Exhausted effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
