Stellaris, a game we’ve kinda covered on this site, is set for release within the month. Do you feel the cosmic pull from Paradox Interactive‘s latest space themed Grand Strategy Game? Just in case you aren’t feeling the Stellaris burn yet, PDS has officially opened Stellaris up for pre-orders –along with a fancy new trailer. Let’s take a moment to watch, shall we?

Stellaris is the new science fiction strategy game from Paradox Development Studio, the creators of Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis and Hearts of Iron. This will be the first strategy game from PDS that is rooted not in the past, but the future, as you guide a species of your design to power and glory in the depths of space. With randomly created opponents and procedurally generated star systems, no two games can even play out the same way.

This is a game that starts small — localized to the tiniest portions of the galaxy. Before long, you will be encountering beasts, fungi, and other sentient beings that will challenge your dominance in the stars. Choosing between aggressive or passive governmental decisions will be paramount to your success. Next, your burgeoning empire will need more resources and more land, two things in short supply as you discover more alien races.

By the time you’ve solidified your stellar empire, and your people have been fully indoctrinated // I mean educated // you will then be able to focus on the deeper mysteries of the Universe. Who are we? Where did we come from? What’s our purpose in life? Are we living in a simulation aptly named Stellaris?

You can pre-order Stellaris here before it’s May 9th release date.
