Olan Rogers, the creator of the 2018 adult animated space opera series Final Space, has announced that the story will be concluded in an official graphic novel that will release sometime in 2024.
The announcement comes nearly two years after the show was canceled on Adult Swim following the WarnerMedia and Discovery merger.
What To Expect from The Final Space Graphic Novel
Final Space is an adult animated space opera series created by Olan Rogers for Adult Swim that ran from February 26, 2018, until March 20, 2021, when the final episode of season 3 aired.
The show’s cancellation was formally announced on September 10, 2021, as a tax write-off following the Warner Bros-Discovery merger that occurred that year.
Since then, Rogers has done everything in his power to continue the story of Final Space in some form.
Today, he formally announced that Warner Bros. Discovery has granted him a license to produce a graphic novel that will serve as the final chapter of the story of Final Space. The deal was offered last week (at the time of writing this), and he formally accepted the offer.
However, the details of the production of the graphic novel include some strict guidelines Rogers must follow, which he outlines in an official announcement video.
The graphic novel must be self-published, cannot be crowdfunded, only one book can be produced, must be sold on a website he owns, and only hard copies can be distributed.
Olan Rogers explains that the book will take some time to finish and predicts it will be released sometime in mid-to-late 2024; the Final Space graphic novel is currently available to pre-order now on the official website.
