The Derelict Ether Furnace is a standard Quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed. It appears shortly after learning how to upgrade your weapons with Bladestone Fragments with Riku. It’s not your typical Quest because you need to gather materials to create parts, but you only need to make the correct part. Finding the materials is the second part of the challenge, but it’s not too difficult if you know where to look. Everything you need can be gathered without fighting as long as you know where to look. Here’s what you need to know about how to complete The Derelict Ether Furnace quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed quest, and start forging Rank V Gems.

Before you begin The Derelict Ether Furnace, you must have completed Riku’s Workshop and upgraded one of your weapons. Head outside the Command Center and look to the left of the entrance to find the ether furnace. You passed it during the tour of Colony 9, but you can now interact with the furnace to begin diagnosing what is wrong. After Nikol and Shulk take a look, the solution is to replace some parts to see what was broken. To find what you need to create the parts, interact with the furnace after the quest officially begins.

You only need to replace one part out of the four to complete the quest. The High Output Reactor is the one that tends to be the correct answer, saving you time and effort. Most of the parts can be gathered in Yesterdale, but you can always check the Anti-Air Battery if you need Wool Rocks and Magnet Clay. Mechanical and ore collectibles are going to contain what you need rather than plants or fossils.

After repairing the Derelict Ether Furnace, the quest will be complete. You will be able to craft Rank V Gems as long as you have the Rank IV stage complete and the necessary materials.

Hopefully, this guide has given you everything you need to know to complete The Derelict Ether Furnace quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed quest. If you haven’t started playing the new Expansion Pass DLC, it’s a good time to get started. Should you be rusty and not remember much about how to play, you can always start up the main game and get some practice before coming back.
