In refreshing updates, Prince Harry and his dad, King Charles, may have found a way around their strained relationship. The father and son duo, whose relationship suffered after he quit the royal life, are reportedly having conversations around his coronation. While the new development is positive, the same cannot be said of Prince Harry and his brother, Prince Charles. The relationship between the brothers appeared to have suffered the most strain. To date, the speaking relationship between Harry and Williams has remained nonexistent.
The Duke of Sussex and His Dad Are on Talking Terms
With barely days left until the King’s coronation, updates around the ceremony are taking up space in the media. And this is deservedly so, as it is a once-in-a-lifetime event. With the event coming up on May 6, questions concerning the tension between Prince Harry and his family have continued to bug the minds of many. Curiosity about Harry and his wife’s attendance and his strained relationship with his family led to a trail of questions.
While we do not have all the answers, Royal correspondent Omid Scobie has shed light on some of the questions. Scobie discussed the level of Harry’s involvement in his father’s coronation during a chat with ET. Scobie, who wrote Harry and Meghan Markle’s biography Finding Freedom, also touched on Harry’s relationship with his brother Williams in the chat.
The royal correspondent confirmed that Harry would be attending his father’s coronation. Scobie implied that there might be tension in the family, as it is Harry’s first trip home since the debut of his memoir. He also noted that the Duke of Sussex and his dad had maintained a regular conversation pattern since the book debuted. Per Scobie, the conversation between the father-son duo centered around the coronation and Frogmore Cottage. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were recently evicted from the Frogmore Cottage. While the couple was given until early summer to vacate the royal housing, Prince Andrew is preparing to move into the property.
“Harry’s had several conversations with his father over the months since the book’s release, largely about the coronation itself and, of course, matters to do with Frogmore Cottage, which the couple will no longer have the keys for any week now,” he shared.
Prince Harry and His Brother’s Relationship
While Prince Harry and his dad’s relationship looks like it is on the mend, his relationship with his brother is still rocky. According to Scobie, the brothers’ relationship has not experienced any significant progress in all this time. He revealed that there had been no contact between the brothers since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. And what’s more, the royal correspondent doesn’t see their relationship getting better in the near future.
In the buildup to King Charles’s coronation, the spotlight for the coronation has been on Harry and his wife, Meghan. While Harry will be gracing his father’s coronation, Meghan will remain In the US with their children. There will definitely be more to look out for ahead of King Charles III’s coronation and afterward.
