Shields in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Even though Link has a large arsenal of different abilities, he is still a brave warrior. Therefore, he can use swords, bows, and Shields in combat. A Shield in Tears of the Kingdom is needed to defend against enemy attacks or even parry them. Moreover, you can upgrade your Shields to make them even stronger.

But this is not the main purpose of this item since Link can use the Shield as a skateboard. So when you need to go down a mountain or slope, you won’t be flying with your paraglider. You will use the Shield as a surfboard just for fun.

How to Shield Surf in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

For Shield Surf in Tears of the Kingdom, you need to equip a Shield. Then hold the ZL button and press the X button to jump. And while in the air, press the A button to use the Shield like a skateboard.

So you can surf fast from different slopes or mountains. This use of the Shield will consume its durability. But this does not apply to sandy or snowy surfaces. They are soft enough to save your Shield’s durability for a long time.
