Mogawak Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features “The Power of Water,” a challenge that involves using a Zonai Battery to solve puzzles. However, the battery is out of juice, and it’s up to you to figure out how to recharge its canister. As the name suggests, “The Power of Water” Shrine requires you to utilize running water to replenish the Zonai Battery. Clearing the puzzles of this Shrine will net you a valuable Opal gem and a Light of Blessing.

First, let’s go over where the Mogawak Shrine location is in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It should be noted that the name is spelled “Mogawak,” not Mohawk Shrine in TotK. You’ll encounter this Shrine in the region of Lanaryu Great Spring. One of the main landmarks of this region is Zora’s Domain, where you’ll find Mogawak Shrine in the lower waterways beneath the elevated pathways.

To complete the “The Power of Water” Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom, you must first repair the watermill contraption used to recharge batteries. In front of the lift of the central chamber, you’ll find an empty battery on the ground. Pick it with your Ultrahand ability and take it into the room on the right with the running water.

Next, perform the following steps to acquire a charged battery in Mogawak Shrine:

  1. Use your Ultrahand to pick up the square-shaped plank in the water.
  2. Attach it to the device above, placing the plank on the side opposite the existing paddle. You’ll need to use R to rotate it correctly.
  3. Using the Ultrahand, grab hold of one of the paddles and turn the device so that it comes into contact with the waterfall.
  4. Place the Zonai Battery onto the nearby charging station to replenish its power.

You’ll know the watermill-powered charging station is working when you see a bright yellow glow emitting from its pipes.

With the charged battery in hand, head to the opposite side of Mogawak Shrine and examine the pool of water. Submerged below are two ball-and-chain-like devices that serve as conductors of electricity. However, we don’t want to provide them power right away, as Link will get electrocuted from the live current in the water. Instead, consider the following steps:

  1. Swim across the pool to the locked room with Mogawak Shrine’s Treasure Chest.
  2. Have the two submerged balls face each other as close as possible.
  3. Reach across the pool with your Ultrahand and place the battery onto the power platform.
  4. Enter the unlocked room and loot the Treasure Chest in Mogawak Shrine in TotK.

Before swimming back across the water, remember to remove the battery. Otherwise, Link will suffer a shocking surprise. After you’ve made it across, recharge the Zonai Battery once more. Finally, head to the lift in the central chamber and use the battery to activate the floating platform. Ascend upward and interact with the altar to complete “The Power of Water” in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
