Dual Pistols is one of the new weapon types in V Rising added in the Secrets of Gloomrot update. While this new ranged weapon does not have an attack range as far as the Crossbow, it is faster and more mobile. You will need to get used to this weapon’s quirks and timing, along with the expansion’s combat overhaul. But before learning how to use it, let’s first find out how to get the Dual Pistols in V Rising.

To get the Recipe for the new Dual Pistols weapon, you have to defeat Jade the Vampire Hunter of the Secrets of Gloomrot expansion. Jade the Vampire Hunter is a Level 57 V Blood Boss that can be found in the Dunley Farmlands area. She is also armed with her own Dual Pistols and Bombs and can be pretty tough to handle. Considering Jade has ranged and area-of-effect attacks, you might want to look for cover away from Dunley Farmlands’ main roads. This way, you can also avoid her getting backups from enemy patrols as well.

Once beaten, Jade the Vampire Hunter will drop a Recipe for Iron Pistols. This Iron-tier weapon is not very impressive, but it is going to be your first pair of V Rising pistols. To craft the Iron Dual Pistols at the Smithy, you will need 15 Iron Ingots and 12 Planks. If you have not unlocked the Smithy yet, you will need to defeat Quincey the Bandit King to acquire the Blueprint for the Structure.

The Iron Dual Pistols weapon in V Rising have a Level 15 base level and are automatically Blood-bound. Equipping the Iron Pistols will give you two unique Abilites:

  • Fan The Hammer:
    • Cooldown: 8 seconds.
    • Cast Time: 0.4 seconds.
    • Fires a barrage of 10 bullets in a cone over 1.5 seconds. Each bullet deals 25% physical damage and knocks the target back.
  • Explosive Bullet:
    • Cooldown: 8 seconds.
    • Cast Time: 0.3 seconds.
    • Perform a dodge roll followed by firing an explosive bullet dealing 25% physical damage. The bullet explodes after 3 seconds, dealing 125% physical damage in an area and knocking nearby enemies back.

The improved Recipe for Merciless Iron Pistols version can be found in two ways. First, you can try farming bosses and loot chests around the Dunley Farmlands area. The second method is by buying Merciless equipment Recipe in the Farmer’s Market using Silver Coins. Compared to the unreliable drop rate, buying the Recipe is a better way to get the V Rising Dual Pistol Recipe. But it will cost you your hard-earned Silver Coins.
