After you complete the Pilgrimage chapter, it’s time to begin Wayward in Diablo 4. Wayward is the first quest in a set of three that makes up the Secrets of the Horadrim chapter of Act 1: A Cold and Iron Faith. During Wayward, you will be searching for Neyrelle, who has gone to search for the Horadric Vault within the Mistral Woods.

The first step of the quest is to search for Neyrelle. The highlighted area of the map to the Northwest of Yelesna is where you will be exploring. As you venture through the area searching for Neyrelle, pay close attention to your surroundings. You will encounter many Wargs and Giant Bats, so be on the lookout for them in Wayward.

Additionally, this quest provides a lot of time to look at items around the map and even activate a shrine that can help you. There are plenty of Gallowvines, Biteberries, and Loose Stones to interact with. Each of these has the potential to drop some Gold or even a piece of gear. Also, you can find quite a few Ore Veins scattered throughout the area. These can all drop you precious metals used for upgrading your weapons and should be collected as you make your way through the Wayward quest in Diablo 4.

As you make your way through the highlighted area on your search for Neyrelle, you can look at many different places. However, you won’t find her. Instead, you will find a new location to explore. In the Northeastern area of the highlighted portion of the map, you will come across a three-faced statue that can be inspected.

Upon inspection, it will say, “Behold the truths that lie within.” Now head over to the Darkened Holt that has just lit up with orange light. The Darkened Holt is a new area we will explore in the next quest, Shroud of Horadrim. However, we can wait to go inside because locating it has completed the Wayward quest in Diablo 4.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things โ€œgeekโ€. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you canโ€™t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
