Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 4 are about to start, and Activision has shared the full roadmap for fans. There will be a ton of new content coming in Season 4 and its future Reloaded update. This includes new game modes, a new faction for the DMZ, and a new Warzone map smaller than Al-Mazrah but bigger than Ashika Island. Let’s dive into all the details about MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 4 update.
Everything Coming to Warzone 2 Season 4
Warzone 2 Season 4 brings a lot of new content to the table, which may result in a massive upward trend for the game. Like in previous Seasons, you can expect brand-new operators, battle pass progression, weapons, and a map! You will also see more sandstorms coming in to cover the Al-Mazrah map.
New Weapons in Warzone 2 Season 4
The two new guns coming to the game are Tempus Razorback and ISO 45. The Tempus Razorback will be available to unlock from the Warzone 2 Season 4 battle pass. It is described as a very smooth and controllable weapon with a high fire rate — making it possibly a new meta pick.
The other weapon, the ISO 45, is an SMG part of the ISO platform. We had the ISO Hemlock in Season 2, a broken meta weapon. The new ISO 45 will likely repeat its meta-story once more. This SMG comes with great damage but results in too much recoil. However, it is pretty obvious that players can dominate the matches with this new SMG until it’s nerfed.
Aside from these two, there will be a new melee weapon coming to Warzone 2 Season 4 as well. You can unlock this weapon in the Assault on Vondel event. And you can expect a new redacted shotgun coming in the Season 4 Reloaded update.
New Resurgence Map: Vondel and Lockdown Mode
The new Vondel map is taken from the Amsterdam mission we had in the Modern Warfare 2 campaign, and it is coming to the Warzone 2 Season 4 as a Resurgence map. However, it’s not going to be a small one like the Ashika Island, nor is it too large on scales like Al-Mazrah.
Vondel houses 18 operators in the DMZ mode while hosting up to 72 players in Resurgence mode. There will be new missions and events taking place on this new map. And you can expect a new mode called the Lockdown coming to Vondel. This brand new objective-based mode is the Hardpoint from MW2 Multiplayer, which tasks the players to control a certain area of the map to gain points and clear the victory.
Gameplay Changes in Warzone 2 Season 4 update
In Warzone 2 Season 4, more sandstorms are coming to the Al-Mazrah map. There will be a new weapon called the Reinforments Flare that will randomly bring a squadmate back to Vondel. And there will also be a new vehicle and fog system implanted into Warzone 2. Also, players can expect a new in-game event that grants double XP tokens by clearing a drop.
Everything Coming to Modern Warfare 2 Season 4
The Season 4 update brings a lot of changes to the MW2 as well. It is considered a crucial season since it will conclude the Atomgrad Raids and finish the Modern Warfare 2 Campaign direct follow-ups by these co-op missions.
Nikto And New Operators Join The Battle
Like previous seasons, Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 4 feature some new operators. Nikto, a character from Modern Warfare 2019, is making a return, and most importantly, you can claim him in the Season 4 battle pass. There will also be a new Blackcell exclusive operator named Io coming in Season 4, alongside Ana Vega, which can be selected by purchasing a certain bundle with another operator named Butch.
Assault on Vondel Public Event
We had public events in the previous seasons; Season 4 is no exception. With the launch of the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 4 update, you’ll be able to participate in the new Assault on Vondel public event.
This event offers many new and must-get rewards, which make it important for players to complete. There are certain challenges in the game that you can do to achieve medals. These medals work like trophies from Season 3, and you can purchase items with them. This event’s rewards include the Reinforcements Flare field upgrade, Taxiboats, Favorite Supply Box, and the Tonfa new melee weapon.
New 12v12 Game Modes
This new addition adds 12v12 mode to the Search and Destroy and Prisoner Rescue playlists. This is much like the 10v10 modes we had in Season 3, and this time includes the game modes that are not respawn-based. These will be among the main playlists of the MW2 Season 4 update.
6 New Maps at Launch and 1 Mid-Season Core Map
MW2 Season 4 update includes six new maps coming to the game. These six will be right available at launch and are mostly based on the POIs in the Al-Mazrah battle royal map. These maps are Showdown, Kunstenaar District, Mercado, Penthouse, Maziwah Marshlands, and Akhdar Village.
The other map coming in the Season 4 Reloaded is the Vondel Waterfront. You can guess by the name that it is a piece of the Vondel Warzone 2 map in Season 4. And you should know that this map will be available for a variety of game modes.
Raid Episode 4 Finale
Raid is coming to an end this Season. After three passed episodes, we had the co-op story missions of Task Force 141, trying to uncover the truth. However, in the final moments of Episode 3, we had the return of an old enemy, and it turns out that the next Season will finish the story we had in the Raid mode. We have a lot to uncover in the next Season’s contents, and much more coming with the Call of Duty 2023.
Phalanx Faction Coming to the DMZ Mode
As always, a new faction will come to the DMZ mode with the start of a new Season. Warzone 2 Season 4 will bring many changes to the DMZ mode, including the Faction Reputation. This mechanism makes factions give you some quick and urgent missions, which you can complete to earn main story objectives. The more you work as an agent for a faction, the more valuable asset you’ll become for their main secret missions!
The Phalanx faction is a new agency that you can get more missions from. Most of their missions are expected to be done on the Vondel DMZ map. But there are no certain details available in this regard. However, a big addition called the Forward Operating Base is coming to the Warzone 2 DMZ to help players keep their cash outside the game and infill with them. This addition does not have the full details yet, but it’s going to be the new menu for DMZ mode.
