Disney Dreamlight Valley sure does love its potatoes. There’s always some colored spud popping up, and they don’t work like your standard potato. The Purple Potato is a good indicator of that. It looks strange, and it’s not commonly grown around the Valley. As a part of the Secret Potato Quest, figuring out where the Purple Potato is can leave some Dreamlight Valley players scratching their heads.

Purple Potato Location in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The only biome that will have the Purple Potato in Disney Dreamlight Valley is Frosted Heights. It’s not even directly around the snowy landscape either. Instead, you have to unlock the Secret Chamber to reach the purple spud. This is the same place where you first encounter our favorite talking and singing snowman.
Unlike most items in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you cannot simply search for the Purple Potato inside the Secret Chamber. There’s a purple portal inside, and you must interact with it and answer its questions correctly. When you do, the Purple Potato will simply appear before you.
So, we have a puzzle to solve to score a strangely colored potato. You can search around for Experiment books. Reading each one will give you the keyword if you pay close attention. But who needs to do that when you have all the correct answers in the correct order below? Simply interact with the portal and use the following keywords:
- Potato
- Book
- Dreams
- Higitus Figitus!
- Fugu
- Crystal
- Foraging
- The Forgetting
- Raspberry
- Magic
There’s only one usage for a Purple Potato in Dreamlight Valley: Royal Purple Potion. It’s related to a hidden quest, so you can’t discuss it with any of your favorite Valley residents. Instead, you must first complete the previous Potato quests (Golden, Orange, and Blue).
To craft the Royal Purple Potion, head to a Crafting Station and use x1 Empty Vial and the Purple Potato. And that’s all you’ll get out of this odd spud. With your fancy new Royal Purple Potion in hand, save it in your home storage. You’re not done yet with the Dreamlight Valley Secret Potato Quest, so you’ll want to keep anything that comes from it.
