This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information.

In the middle of what is one of the most intense, contested, and possibly insane political election cycles that the United States has seen in recent memory a new campaign attack ad has dropped on YouTube showing that our galaxy isn’t the only place where this sort of political weapon is employed.

Straight from the official Star Wars YouTube channel, this attack ad is directed at Princess Leia and is intent on exposing her hypocrisies, all of which are actually canonical events. This attack ad is a perfect replication of its real life counterparts and it hits every beat from the sinister mood of the whole thing right down to the inverse coloration that gets thrown over Leia’s picture at one point.

Overall this “attack ad” is a great parody of the ones we see every day now in the real world and lends some great amusement to what has for many, been an otherwise quite grim election cycle.

This attack ad against Princess Leia is actually an advertisement in disguise; it is promoting the new Star Wars novel Bloodlines which features Princess Leia dealing with civil unrest in the New Republic.

Do you think that Leia Organa is the only person that you would want to see in the White House?  Do you agree with the ad, and feel that she is truly a terrible criminal and should have her power stripped from her?  Have you no idea what Star Wars is?
