Want to know how to defeat Ganondorf in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom? Link went through many different adventures and tough battles. However, in Tears of the Kingdom, he again has to fight Ganon. The main villain of the entire series, of course, is a strong enemy. And to defeat him, you have to make quite a lot of preparations, including completing almost all the story quests. It is also worth noting that this Boss has several phases during which you can easily die if you are not careful. So, read on to learn how to find and beat Ganondorf in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf Location
Tears of the Kingdom has a vast open world. And even if you explore all the Depths, you won’t find the Demon King. And this is not surprising since he hides much deeper in the Depths than you can imagine. But before you go, you need to prepare:
- Make meals with Sundelion to cure the Gloom effect.
- Upgrade your Armor to the max.
- Find items that will temporarily increase your stats, including attack and defense.
Only after that, you will be able to go to the Destroy Ganondorf quest. As we said, the final Boss is located deep underground. Therefore, you need to find the correct Chasm, namely the one in Hyrule Castle.
How To Find Ganondorf
You can easily get there by traveling to Serutabomac Shrine or using the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower. However, it is quite difficult to navigate in Chasm since it is filled with Gloom and various enemies. So follow these tips to reach Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom:
- Moving south, you will go even deeper.
- In the second cave, you need to climb up the wall to go further.
- Then fly over to the left wall, on which there is a stone corridor.
- Go to the next cave and use your Recall ability on one of the fallen rocks to climb up.
- After that, run through the ruined corridors avoiding Gloom and enemies.
- You will reach another tunnel down. Going down, you will see a message that the power of Sage cannot reach this place.
- Climb over the destroyed bridge and ignore all enemies.
- Then you again need to run through the corridors that goes deeper. On the way, destroy the rocks to unlock the passages.
- After you jump into another Chasm you will reach Gloom’s Lair.
- Run forward and jump down one last time to find Ganondorf and his army in Tears of the Kingdom.
How To Beat The Demon King’s Army
Even though you reached the battlefield alone, you will not fight alone. Your faithful friends will come to you to fight The Demon King’s Army. Luckily this is a fairly easy battle as you only have to fight off waves of various enemies. However, we do not recommend taking damage and using consumables during this battle. It is better to save them for the final Boss.
Once you have dealt with all the waves, the final wave with the strongest enemies will appear. But this is no longer your concern since the passage to Ganondorf is open. Your friends will complete this battle themselves, so you can go further to finally defeat your sworn enemy.
How To Defeat Ganondorf
As befits the final Boss, Ganondorf has several phases and a variety of attacks. Moreover, he deals massive damage, and you will need consumables with an anti-Gloom effect to restore your health. Therefore, it is better not to fall under his attacks. And so that you defeat Ganondorf on the first try, you can follow our simple tips.
Ganon’s First Phase
- In this phase, Ganondorf will attack you with various attacks, changing his Sword to Hammer or Spear.
- He can slash with his sword in front of him or make a spinning attack.
- With a hammer, he does a rambling attack when you are close or jumps at you when you are far away to deal an AoE attack. He can also cover the ground around him with Gloom by hitting the ground with his Hammer. To dodge it, jump and fly up on the airflow.
- With the Spear, the Boss can do a simple straight attack and a charged one. The latter leaves a trail of Gloom behind him.
- You can shoot him in the head with a bow when he changes weapon or charges attack.
- During attacks, dodge to the side or jump to trigger Flurry Rush and deal as much damage as possible. It is the best strategy to defeat Ganondorf.
Ganon’s Second Phase
- During this phase, the Boss will summon his clones and double his health.
- Luckily, your friends will come and handle all the fake Ganons for themselves. Therefore, you should focus on the main one.
- Use the same strategy with Flurry Rush to bring the Boss’ health down to half.
- After that, Ganondorf will get rid of all the clones and your allies.
- He will also start using the Bow, throw waves of Gloom at you, or create small Gloom pillars around you.
- Move to the side to avoid taking damage from these attacks.
- Also be careful, as Ganondorf will dodge your attacks as well as you. Therefore, you have to dodge several times in a row to trigger Flurry Rush.
- Continue until you defeat Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom.
Ganon’s Third Phase
- After one of the most epic cutscenes in the game, Ganondorf will transform into Demon Dragon.
- To defeat him, you need to fall on his back to weak spots in the form of growths with eyes.
- As soon as you destroy the growth, you will be thrown up. But we recommend that you fall so that the Golden Dragon raises you above the Boss again.
- You also need to dodge the Gloom balls that the Demon Dragon will constantly shoot at you from its mouth.
- When you destroy the last growth, you will need to land on the head of the Dragon and deal the final blow.
That’s all you need to know about how to find and defeat the Ganondorf Boss in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. It is the most difficult Boss in the game, as even getting to him is a challenge.
