How To Get the Silence Armor Trim in Minecraft

One of the coolest armor trims in Minecraft is the Silence trim, which adds dark coloring to your favorite suit of armor. I love it! Armor trim in general is a great addition to the game.  The problem is you usually don’t come across the Silence Armor Trim just hiking in the woods. You’re more likely to get Silence Armor Trim by knowing how to find it in Minecraft. The trick is to gather the best gear you have and get ready for some spelunking.

How to Get the Silence Armor Trim in Minecraft

To get the Silence Armor Trim in Minecraft, you need to know where to locate an Ancient City. That’s why you must come prepared with good gear—not leather and certainly not with wooden swords. Ancient Cities are heavily guarded by Wardens, and sculk shriekers will sound the alarm if you get too close.

Now, Ancient Cities are rare themselves, so you need to be exceedingly lucky. There are a couple ways to find Ancient CIties:

• Search for a mountainous area far from any water source and dig down until Y: -51; strip-mine until you find the structure.
• Using the seed generator, spawn into a world with a nearby Ancient City for easy access.
• Visit the seed map on Chunkbase and input your world’s seed to conveniently find where every Ancient City has generated.

When you step foot into an Ancient City, start looking for chests. Every chest you open has a 1.2% of housing the Silence Armor Trim in Minecraft. With that low of a drop chance, that means you’ll be exploring Ancient Cities for the foreseeable future. The silver lining here is that you only need to find one because afterwards, it can be duplicated.

How to Duplicate Silence Armor Trim

Suppose you do come across the Silence Armor Trim in Minecraft, what then? Short of feeling like you won the lottery, with a few diamonds, you can duplicate the smithing template, like so:

1. Enter the 3×3 grid of a Crafting Table.
2. Place down Cobbled Deepslate in the center of the grid. 
3. Place the smithing template in the slot directly above the block.
4. Fill all six remaining slots with Diamonds.

Fortunately, diamonds are found pretty easily at this elevation, too. So is Cobbled Deepslate. You could establish a small mining operation near an Ancient City and knock two birds with one pickaxe. Good luck!
