Final Fantasy 16 will send you on an epic journey across Valisthea. You will come across formidable foes known as Notorious Marks. Bomb King in Final Fantasy 16 is one of these Notorious Marks. This explosive juggernaut is a part of the Weird Science side quest in Final Fantasy 16. When the quest is completed and the Bomb King is slain away, you will receive valuable and rare items that make Clive’s adventure a bit easier. So, how does one start the Weird Science quest, and where to find the Bomb King in Final Fantasy 16? Let’s explain.
Weird Science Quest Walkthrough
To initiate the “Weird Science” quest in Final Fantasy 16, seek out Owain, the Engineer, located in Mid’s Dungeon. He will assign you the quest and direct you to the Hunt Board. This quest is part of the main scenario quest “Out of the Shadow” and requires unlocking Mid’s Dungeon in the Hideaway. The main goal is to collect Bomb Ash for Owain, which you will get after defeating the Bomb King in Final Fantasy 16.
Bomb King Location
Once you interact with Nektar and Hunt Board, it will reveal the Bomb King’s location in Final Fantasy 16. The Bomb King can be found in the Crock region of Sanbreque. If you haven’t visited the area yet, it is situated near The Dragon’s Aery Obelisk. Use fast travel to reach the obelisk and proceed southwards along the forest path towards the Imperial Chase. Continue until you reach the Crock area, where the Bomb King awaits. Keep an eye out for a short cutscene upon your arrival.
Bomb King Fight Guide
The Bomb King is a Notorious Mark B rank and is the stronger and larger Bomb enemy you have already encountered. At level 33, it poses a significant threat to Clive with its explosive AOE attacks. Make sure you have as many potions on you as possible. To make things easier, here is a step-by-step guide on how to defeat the Bomb King in Final Fantasy 16.
- Approach the Bomb King and be ready for its fire attacks. Note that it doesn’t have a Stagger bar, so focus on dealing damage.
- The Bomb King will summon bomb minions called Witan. Use area-of-effect (AOE) attacks to defeat them quickly. Otherwise, dodge their attacks until they disappear.
- Be cautious of the Bomb King’s large area-of-effect (AOE) attacks. Dodge them to avoid taking excessive damage.
- Take advantage of the Bomb King’s vulnerability between Witan phases to attack it.
- After defeating the Bomb King, search the area for three Bomb Ash samples.
- Go back to The Hideaway and speak with Owain to complete the Weird Science side quest.
Once the Weird Science quest is done, Owain will reward you with the following:
- Treated Potion Satchel, which increases Potion limit.
- 1 Black Blood.
Moreover, you will get 900 EXP and 40 Renown. With this guide, you will easily find the Bomb King in Final Fantasy 16 and defeat this Notorious Mark.
