Ebb Software, the developer behind the beautifully grotesque Xbox exclusive Scorn, has officially announced that Scorn will expand its horizons and make its way to the PlayStation 5 later this year. The game wasn’t an Xbox console exclusive, as it was also available on PC. But it was on Game Pass, which now costs more than before. Now, even more, players will be able to see Scorn’s unique and horrible world on PS5, especially since it didn’t have the best reception from fans.
Scorn is an immersive first-person horror adventure game initially developed exclusively for Xbox Series X/S and PC when released on October 14, 2022. Jovan Vučković, the technical artist at Ebb Software, shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming PlayStation 5 version of Scorn. In a blog post on the official PlayStation Blog, Vučković delved into the potential unlocked by the DualSense controller. The integration of the controller aims to further immerse players in Scorn’s dark and enigmatic universe.
New DualSense Features In Scorn For PlayStation 5
With a firm emphasis on environmental storytelling, Scorn relies on every aspect of its design to communicate the narrative. That’s where the haptic feedback capabilities of the DualSense controller come into play. Vučković highlighted how this feature elevates the immersion by allowing players to feel the protagonist’s painful interactions with the eerie world. The haptics will also provide a sense of direction by distinguishing between sensations originating from the left or right side of the controller. Additionally, the controller’s light bar reflects the player’s health status in Scorn, something we’ve seen before in PS5 games like The Last of Us.
Scorn’s deluxe physical edition will also make it to the PlayStation 5. This special edition will feature exclusive collectibles, including a steel bookcase, a digital artbook, and a digital soundtrack. While the exact release date for the PlayStation 5 version of Scorn remains undisclosed, it is safe to assume that it will not be available before October 14 because that is when its exclusivity period ends. Let’s see if the Xbox-exclusive Indiana Jones game also makes it to PlayStation in the future.
