Wanted to know whether or not Halls of Torment has multiplayer modes? The recently released roguelike Diablo-like title has taken the internet by storm. Combining the fun and challenging nature of both loot-based action RPG and permadeath, it has been getting a lot of attention lately. Nevertheless, some players might find the levels or Halls to be a bit too tough. Or they just wanted to help their friends unlock secrets like the blood trails. That’s why they wonder if can you play Halls of Torment in multiplayer or not.

Halls of Torment does not have any multiplayer mode, unfortunately. That’s right, you can only play this game alone in single-player mode. This means you can’t team up with your friends to conquer the Halls or compete with other players in PvP battles. You are on your own in this roguelike “reverse-bullet” hell game.

Chasing Carrots, the developer, did not give any reason why multiplayer is not planned to be added to Halls of Torment. The team also does not have a concrete update roadmap, aside from leaving Steam Early Access in six months. However, they did write that fixed roadmaps do not help them “create a cool game.”

From that reasoning, it is safe to assume that Chasing Carrots wanted to focus on creating a deep and immersive single-player experience. Adding multiplayer would probably eat up a lot of technical work and resources that a small developer didn’t have as well. Applying these limitations should keep the game simple, and accessible, and avoid any potential issues with online connectivity, lag, or cheating.

I know you might be disappointed by this, especially if you were looking forward to playing Halls of Torment multiplayer with your friends. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of other multiplayer-capable action RPGs that offer a similar gameplay style and genre. Here are some recommended titles for both mobile and consoles that you and your friends should try:

Mobile Games PC and Console Games
Diablo Immortal Diablo IV
Eternium Eternium
Raziel: Dungeon Arena Grim Dawn
Zenonia 5 Path of Exile
Dungeon Hunter 5 Torchlight 3

That’s all for now. Hopefully, Chasing Carrots is planning to make an even bigger game with multiplayer for the sequel of Halls of Torment. Stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for more tips and tricks on your favorite RPGs on mobile, console, and PC.
