Of all the collaborations possible, this comes as a real shocker. It seems that Spy x Family just announced a collaboration with the highly anticipated upcoming outing of Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning. Spy x Family has blown up in terms of popularity since its release in April of last year. That popularity has become evident even in Hollywood, and the team working on the long-delayed Mission Impossible movie has used the anime’s fame to help its marketing efforts in Japan.
For anyone expecting to get a crossover episode with Spy x Family and the movie, you will be slightly disappointed. But this collaboration by itself is quite unusual in the anime industry. This was achieved by remaking the Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning poster in the style of Spy x Family. The new poster, which you can see below, has replaced all the characters in the Mission Impossible movie with the ones from the Forger family in Spy x Family.

Loid has aptly replaced Ethan Hunt while Yor and other characters from the anime are also in the poster, which fans will instantly recognize. As expected, the collaboration has become all the rage among Spy x Family fans and Tom Cruise fans alike. The deal makes a lot of sense, as the two stories include a lot of espionage.
For the uninitiated, Spy x Family came out last year and has become very successful. The studio behind Spy x Family is currently working on the second season. Season 2 of Spy x Family will debut in October of this year.
On the flip side, Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning is the seventh movie in the long-running franchise and continues the story of Ethan Hunt. The movie will make it to the big screen on July 12, in only a few days.
