This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Whether you rush in with a keyboard and mouse or controller, theย Halls of Tormentย controls are relatively easy to understand. They’re even easier if you come from similar bullet-hellย survival gamesย likeย Vampire Survivors. The game sends a constant wave of vicious monsters, so you must always be prepared to face the worst. That’s why it helps if you’re comfortable with the controls. So, we’ll dive into everything you need to know, regardless of what you use to play the game.

Inย Halls of Torment, you choose from various heroes to journey throughout this dangerous region. No matter who you choose, the basicย Halls of Tormentย controls are the same. For the mouse and keyboard, you will use the following:

  • Attack:ย Mouse 1
  • Toggle Auto-Attack: Mouse 2
  • Move:ย WASD
  • Aim:ย Mouse
  • Toggle Auto-Aim: R

Controller Halls of Torment Controls

Halls of Torment also allows for controller support. So, whether you’re not comfortable with mouse and keyboard play or simply want to switch things up, you can plug in a compatible controller and get to work on killing things. The controllerย Halls of Torment controls are listed below:

  • Attack:ย R2
  • Toggle Auto-Attack: Y
  • Move:ย Left Analog Stick
  • Aim:ย Right Analog Stick
  • Toggle Auto-Aim: R3

Which Is Better: Controller or Mouse and Keyboard?

It’s an age-old debate whether it’s right to play certain PC games with a mouse/keyboard or a controller. Theย Halls of Tormentย controls have a simple answer: it’s up to you. Regardless of your choice, it takes practice to get faster with the movement. Monsters constantly attack you, so you can’t stand still in this game. They attack you from every angle possible too.ย

With a controller, you might see yourself moving precisely in a particular direction. The keyboard locks you into eight movements thanks to the WASD controls.ย

A mouse does make theย Halls of Tormentย controls easier when it comes to locking in on enemies. It’s helpful on those stronger enemies when you need to focus your attacks. With a controller, you can still target other enemies even if the auto features are enabled.

Both have their benefits, but it still comes down to what you are more comfortable using. It’s more helpful that you always enable auto features, though, no matter what you controlย Halls of Tormentย with. By doing so, you ensure your character won’t become overwhelmed.
