The Marvels official trailer is here and in this breakdown post, we’re going to deep dive into its details. The new trailer gives us new information about the Captain Marvel 2 movie, like how The Marvels‘ powers are connected, and how the Ms. Marvel Disney Plus series story connects to this new marvelous adventure. This official teaser video also shows new shots of the Kree antagonist of this story, who wants to destroy planets. Now, let’s review the video and get to The Marvels official trailer breakdown.
The Marvels Official Trailer Breakdown
The trailer begins with a shot of space, followed by dialogue between Nick Fury and Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel. In this shot, we get to see Nick Fury on SABER, and Carol Danvers on her own spaceship. However, if you take a look at the SABER employees in space, you can notice that their uniforms look similar to the one Monica Rambeau wears. This is probably because Monica is working with Fury on investigations into space.
However, there’s one very important detail about Monica Rambeau in this trailer, and that’s the fact that she can take off her gloves in space! We can see this while she’s trying to touch the hexagon portals in the space, and it’s completely clear that she’s not wearing anything on her hands in deep space. But the trailer continues to give us more important details, this time about the antagonist.
The main villain of this movie is Dar-Benn; a general of Kree’s empire in the galaxy. Then we get to hear her say the line that most villains say; “You took everything from me.” But the important thing about this scene is that Dar-Benn uses a bangle, similar to what Kamala used in the Ms. Marvel Disney Plus series. In fact, this bangle is designed for the left hand, whereas Kamala’s was worn on her right hand. But regardless of that, Dar-Benn looks to know a lot more about this bangle and uses its powers as if it’s Kree tech.

In this The Marvels trailer breakdown, we noticed that anything related to light is controlled by these bangles. And Dar-Benn utilizes this power to glitch anyone that uses light in space. This leads to Ms. Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Captain Marvel switching places whenever they use their powers of light. Kamala can turn light into objects, Monica sees light and radiation, and Carol can absorb light. This is while Dar-Benn can use this knowledge as a weakness to her enemies, and even close the space portals.
By closing the hexagon portals, Dar-Benn is able to invade every other planet and destroy them. An important detail that we discovered in this The Marvels trailer breakdown is that at the end of the video is that our heroes have overcome this glitching issue. The final shots of the trailer shows that The Marvels are using their powers without any glitches, and they’re actually going 3v1 against the poor antagonist. This is while Captain Marvel is wielding Dar-Benn’s Cosmi-Rod; a weapon that Ronan The Accuser used in the first Guardians of The Galaxy movie as well. And at the end, with a Marvel Studios fun style, the trailer ends with Kamala Khan screaming after watching what Goose is capable of.
The Marvels is slated to hit the theatres on November 10, 2023.
