The 4.0 version of Genshin Impact is coming to this legendary gacha game and, with it, many new features. In the latest trailer, we saw Fontaine, the characters, and some of the story. But the arrival of another nation to Teyvat does not mean that HoYoverse will forget the previous ones. That is why we had events in other nations and characters from those places participating during Sumeru’s arc. One example was the Summoner’s Summit Event, where Kaeya, Kokomi, and even Charlotte from Fontaine participated. If the information is accurate, new characters from Liyue will appear in Genshin Impact during Fontaine’s arc.
Genshin Impact’s New Playable Characters from Liyue Could be Adepti
Recent leaks have shown Fontaine most of all, but new characters from other nations might show up, too. During its story teaser, Echoes of the Heart, we witnessed the human version of Cloud Retainer and young Madame Ping. Some leaks suggest these adepti are the new Liyue Characters in the Genshin Impact roster. It isn’t official yet, but the information looks reliable.
Some players even believe that Guizhong could be one of the playable characters in Genshin Impact. But, if you follow the events and the official YouTube channel, you will know that Guizhong met her end. This should be taken with a grain of salt until HoYoverse releases more information. However, it wouldn’t be the first time fans believe a character will return from the afterlife to be playable, as was the case with La Signora.

Players will be very busy as Fontaine arrives in the 4.0 version of Genshin Impact, but we may see these new Liyue characters in the following updates. For now, the second phase of version 3.8 arrives on July 25, 2023, with the banners of Kokomi and The Wanderer. Whether you want to pull for them or save for any new characters, now’s the time to start saving Primogems to prepare for what’s coming.
