Following the procedure, royal surgeons revealed it was a success, and the Duchess was recuperating in her home, surrounded by family.
After weeks spent in the care of family, Sarah is back gracing the streets once again. On Sunday, July 30, Sarah Ferguson was spotted in public for the first time since her cancer diagnosis. Photos obtained by DailyMail showed the 63-year-old inside a car, in the company of her ex-husband Prince Andrew who manned the stirring wheel.

Sarah looked invigorated in a sky-blue shirt and navy blue jacket, with her hair styled back in a flowery headband. For the outing, the mom of two went makeup free, rocking a pair of gold earrings as her only accessory. Yet, Sarah Ferguson managed to give off her usual graceful aura, a clear sign she was indeed recuperating after successfully undergoing a mastectomy at King Edward VIII’s Hospital.
Weeks prior, the Duchess of York reassured her well-wishers that she was choosing to put on a positive front in the face of her recent health journey. In an episode of her Tea Talks podcast where the duchess discussed her diagnosis, Sarah Ferguson described her breast cancer as an enormous friend on hand to protect her “like a shield,” and let her know she’s got things under control. She quipped,
“I feel like a shield like I’ve got a shield of protection, because it feels like it’s definitely there to say, “We got this.'”
