The trailer for Spy Kids: Armageddon sets the scene with our new set of parents being taken hostage. Now, they must save their parents and the world.

Spy Kids: Armageddon Trailer Sees New Spy Family, Including Zachary Levi and Gina Rodriguez

Spy Kids: Armageddon | Date Announcement | Netflix

This latest entry is the first time we see a new family that moves away from the Cortez family in the original quadrilogy with Alexa PenaVega, Daryl Sabara, Carla Gugino, and Antonio Banderas. Along with the new family, new cast members will include Billy Magnussen (No Time to Die), D.J. Cotrona (Shazam! Fury of the Gods), Neal Kodinsky (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), and Fabiola Andújar (Blood, Money or Loyalty).

The father and son writing duo produce the film with Tom Proper, Don Granger, Dana Goldberg, David Ellison, and Elizabeth Avellan. Executive producers include Peter Oilataguerre, Ben Ormand, and Gary Barber.

The Spy Kids: Armageddon trailer sets the first entry to hit the streaming service and not have a theatrical run. The franchise has grossed $565 million worldwide. The first film grossed $197 million, performing the best in the franchise. From there, it goes down to Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over ($167 million), Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams ($119 million), and the last entry, 2011’s All the Time in the World ($80 million).

With the film coming around the corner, there will be less promotion than other big Netflix films. As the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes go forward, the latest releases have limited to no advertising from the people making it. Streaming services not paying residuals or very little has been one of the biggest talking points for striking workers.

Spy Kids: Armageddon will release on Netflix on September 22.
