After the catastrophe of the Hellfire Gala, Marvel’s heroes are regrouping for Tony Stark and Emma Frost’s wedding. Next month’s X-Men #26 and Invincible Iron Man #10 features the nuptials between these two unlikely lovebirds. Marvel has been teasing this event for some time now, and we know that it will tie directly into the ongoing Fall of X event. While we don’t yet know how this wedding comes to be, Marvel is teasing the big day with a look at Meghan Hetrick’s amazing variant covers for the big day.
Fall of X
July’s Hellfire Gala kicked off the highly anticipated Fall of X event with a bang. The mutant-hating group known as Orchis launched a full-scale attack against Krakoa in the middle of the Gala. This left the mutant sanctuary of Krakoa destroyed and its inhabitants dead, injured, or scattered across the globe. This means new alliances must be made. As Emma Frost and Tony Stark’s Hellfire Club partnership solidifies, so do their romantic feelings for one another.
X-Men #26 features the proposal by Tony Stark and Emma Frost’s resounding acceptance. Then, Invincible Iron Man #10 showcases the wedding between these two iconic Marvel characters.
Tony Stark and Emma Frost’s Wedding
Writer Gerry Duggan and artists Stefano Caselli and Juan Frigeri are tackling this big event. Duggan spoke at the event, saying neither Tony Stark nor Emma Frost really feels like the type to want marriage. However, the how and why this Tony Stark and Emma Frost wedding has occurred makes total sense. This is especially true amid the Fall of X event, threatening all that mutants hold dear.
To celebrate the wedding, artist Meghan Hetrick crafted two gorgeous variant covers for Invincible Iron Man #10. The covers pay homage to the classic Amazing Spider-Man Annual #21 cover. This issue featured the iconic wedding between Peter Parker and Mary Jane. Now it’s Tony Stark and Emma Frost’s turn. For Hetrick’s covers, they will be available in two formats: one with the characters in their superhero costumes and another in their classic formalwear.
X-Men #26 is out on August 7.
