In Baldur’s Gate 3, many options are available, some of which change just a few details. Others have the power to drastically change everything in your story and can also directly affect your characters. One of the most critical choices you will face at the end of Chapter One has to do with Nightsong, who turns out to be not a weapon but a very important character for the end of the campaign. You will have to decide whether to kill or spare Nightsong in Baldur’s Gate 3, but this choice will affect the fate of the continent as well as the story of Shadowheart.
Save or Kill Nightsong in BG3? Explained
In short, saving Nightsong is the best thing to do due to the rewards you will get. To save Nightsong in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must finish the Gauntlet of Shar and travel to the realm where she’s imprisoned. Here, you’ll find Balthazar. To save Nightsong, you must face Balthazar and defeat him. Here’s the strategy we used:
- Send all melee fighters to Balthazar; he doesn’t have a lot of HP.
- Send your spellcasters to defeat the skeletons on the ledges.
- When possible, shove enemies off the stage for some easy kills.
- Use Radiant Damage against skeletons and other undead enemies.
If you defeat Balthazar, start the dialogue with Nightsong with Shadowheart in your party and convince her not to kill Nightsong. To do this, you must pass a Persuasion check. If you do, Shadowheart will throw the weapon capable of killing Nightsong, but Shar will shun Shadowheart forever.
