After a long time waiting, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 teaser has been officially released, with a hint at a returning villain. In fact, the rumors about the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 were spread weeks ago. However, right now, the new Call of Duty 2023‘s title has been revealed, and we know that this is going to be a direct sequel to 2022’s Modern Warfare 2. So, when is the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 release date? Who is the enemy that Captain Price is so afraid of? How will he bring shadows of fear to the Modern Warfare storyline?

In the new Call of Duty 2023 teaser, we see the green signals that refer to MW2. But then it turns red, as Captain Price starts saying “He’s not new.” This is the Captain talking about the new threat; something we saw at the end of MW2‘s campaign. In fact, we even hear the reloading sound of the makeshift gun that we saw in the ending cutscene of MW2 as well. However, the name of the enemy never gets dropped by Price.

After that, we hear another character, presumably Soap, saying “Never bury your enemies alive.” First off, based on the MW2 campaign’s ending cutscene and the late events happening in DMZ, it’s logical if that enemy is in fact Makarov. Vladimir Makarov was the villain of the original MW series as well. Here, what Soap says in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 teaser is about something in the past.

It looks like Soap and Price had once defeated this enemy. But they have not confirmed the job as done. It means that Makarov or his allies have been presumed dead, but now they’ve returned as the Konni Group with new threats. However, remember to take this info with a grain of salt, as we have to wait until the official trailer reveals the new villain.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Release Date

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be released on November 10, 2023. Right now, there is no information on which platforms will be compatible with Call of Duty 2023.
