Gal Gadot, who played Wonder Woman in Zach Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman, is hard at work revisiting the character in the upcoming WW movie. She performs alongside the likes of Chris Pine, David Thewlis, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielson, to name a few. Gadot’s appearance as the Amazon warrior was well-received by the audience in spite of the film itself quickly falling into disrepute. The Wonder Woman film is being directed by Patty Jenkins with writers Jason Fuchs and William Marston. Warner Bros. has dropped an official synopsis for the plot in a press release last Monday, which states:
“Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action-adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside a man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers… and her true destiny.”
The press release was given in advance of Warner Bros.’ panel at San Diego Comic-Con, held July 21-24. Other featured titles will include “Suicide Squad,” “The Lego Batman Movie,” “Kong: Skull Island,” “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword,” and “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” WB’s booth will feature a Fantastic Beasts talent signing and wand station, Lego Batman photo booth, and King Arthur autograph signing. DC’s booth has Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman talent signing and costume displays, and the Lego booth will have a Lego building area.
