Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies has been officially revealed by Activision, and we’ll see the undead once more in a CoD title. However, this is rather an odd decision by Activision to include this mode in a Modern Warfare game. There are no other MW games to have a Zombies mode, and MW3 will be the first one to do so.
Will Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Have Zombies Mode?
Yes, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies mode has been confirmed by the developers. This mode will be available once the game launches on November 10, 2023. And this means that the players won’t have access to this mode in the early access version of the game. But is this mode related to the events from the Black Ops Zombies universe?
The first game to ever contain a zombie mode in the Call of Duty franchise was the World At War, which served as a prequel to Black Ops 1. This WWII game had many DLC packs, which all had a Zombies mode map with new perks and features. Fans’ positive reviews on this game mode marked the continuation of the zombie storyline in the Black Ops series. We saw the latest narrative of this mode with Black Ops Cold War.
Now, the important thing is that the story connection between the Modern Warfare universe and Black Ops was revealed in Cold War. And that means the story of Black Ops 1 and Cold War are canon to MW, MW2, and presumably, the MW3 as well. With that in mind, does this mean that the MW3 Zombies storyline is also connected to the Black Ops Cold War Zombies?

The news of confirmation of the MW3 Zombies was announced via Call of Duty‘s official YouTube channel. However, there are no details about this mode’s story. This is also not the first time that we see a Zombies mode on a game from Infinity Ward. So, we just have to wait until the release of official trailers and teasers of the MW3 Zombies mode in the upcoming weeks.
It is worth noting that the new Call of Duty post also points to two new features. The first one is the Open Combat Missions in the MW3 Campaign mode, which has no specific details. And the second one is the phrase that says “An evolution of the Multiplayer experience.” This is probably a reference to the rumored movement changes coming in this game.
