Palia offers tons of finned friends to find, especially if you’re open to fishing anytime, anywhere. Some of these gilled gems can be a nightmare to catch, however, especially if they only appear under certain circumstances. Despite its shadowy name, the Umbran Carp is a much lighter burden to bear. You can catch this Uncommon fish in a few different places. Just keep your eyes open. Wouldn’t want to hit your head on any stalactites. Here’s how to find and catch an Umbran Carp in Palia.
Palia Umbran Carp Guide
(Updated on October 7, 2024 – updated links and format)
Whereas other fish require specific baits and times to catch, the Umbran Carp is easier. You can catch this fish at any time of day, and it doesn’t require any bait. There is a catch to all that catching, however. You’ll need to go to Kilima Village or Bahari Bay and fish in the local caves, as only the cave lakes and the Underground are a viable source. The open air of the ocean won’t cut it this time. Here are some tips to help:
- Try fishing in the ponds of Pavel Mines (Bahari Bay)
- Umbran Carp is an Uncommon fish, so don’t be discouraged if it takes a while
- Fish in water ripples to increase your odds of catching a Quality version
Quality versions are always worth more money, so it’s worth shooting for rippling areas when you can. Regardless of where you sink your line, however, catching an Umbran Carp shouldn’t take too long. In addition to selling and cooking it, you can also gift an Umbran Carp to NPCs in Palia. Just be careful who you try this with because not everyone thinks a fish is a suitable gift.
