During your travels, you will learn more and more about the parasite in your head. As you explore Underdark, you will have the opportunity to learn more about it and even try to get rid of it. You must also learn how to help Omeluum investigate the parasite in Baldur’s Gate 3. It’s quite a challenging quest because you’ll have to go through a difficult path to get the necessary items to complete it. Don’t worry; we will tell you everything you need to know about each stage of the task.
How To Start the Help Omeluum Investigate the Parasite Quest
First of all, you will need to visit the Myconid colony and find Blurg there, which is located at the following coordinates: X:100, Y:-90. After starting a conversation with him, you can tell him about the condition of the parasite in your head.
He will listen and tell you that he knows someone who can help named Omeluum. Then, the mighty Mind Flayer will appear in front of you to listen. Telling the story of the parasite to Omeluum, you will find out that it is not that simple. To investigate the parasite in more detail, you will need to find certain ingredients for it, namely:
- Tongue of Madness
- Timmak Spores
You’ll also find out that you’ll have to go the hard way because they can only be found in one place – Arcane Tower. After you finish the conversation, the Help Omeluum Investigate the Parasite quest in Baldur’s Gate 3 will begin.
How To Reach Arcane Tower in BG3
After learning from Blurg that you can get the necessary ingredients in Arcane Tower, you can begin your journey. To get to the required location, you will need to go to the southwestern part of the map to the following coordinates: X:0, Y:-300. Take your time to carefully investigate everything because Cleric Lenore, who owns the tower, has placed defensive turrets that will attack anyone approaching his property.
To successfully avoid these traps and move on, we recommend using an Invisibility potion or Pass Without Trace. We also urge you to choose only one character from the team, such as Astarion, who will continue to search for the necessary items.
As soon as you pass the first turret, pay attention to the stairs that lead to the path that goes down. Follow this path, jumping on the big mushroom ledges, until you see a glowing blue tree called Sussur Tree. Approach it and collect Sussur Bloom to power the generator in the future.
After you do, you’ll be able to enter the Arcane Tower through the door in the backyard next to the tree. Moving forward, you’ll notice a huge generator. Go up to it and power up with the Sussur Bloom you recently collected. If you do everything right, you’ll power up the Arcane Tower, providing you with light and the deactivation of the turrets.
Where to find Tongue of Madness and Timmak Spores in BG3
After this, you can use the elevator directly above it. It will take you up to the room where you can get the items you need. Timmak Spores are located on the shelf at the following coordinates: X:-45, Y:275.
Tongues of Madness are located in the opposite corner of the room. It’s hard not to notice them because they look like a huge red mushroom growth.
After collecting all the necessary materials, you can continue exploring Arcane Tower or return to Omeluum, which we recommend doing to complete the Help Omeluum Investigate the Parasite quest in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Returning to Omeluum and Investigating the Parasite in BG3
After collecting all the necessary ingredients and giving them to Omeluum, he will brew a potion you need to drink. After doing this, you will have to make some Wisdom and Intelligence saving throws. Still, regardless of your results, the conclusion will be the same. As it appears, the potion had no effect on the treatment but only strengthened the parasite. In turn, Omeluum will offer you the Ring of Mind Shielding, which neutralizes the parasite’s effects. It is worth noting that you do not eliminate the parasite but only dispel its negative and positive effects. This will complete the quest.
