Horizon Forbidden West is one of the best PlayStation exclusives ever, and it seems Sony might be planning on expanding its player base even further. According to an official leak, Horizon Forbidden West will be getting a “Complete Edition” through a re-release. Although this does not confirm which platforms it will be released on, it will probably make experiencing the game in its entirety a lot more palatable.
IMDA is Singapore’s rating authority, and according to the website, the base game and the accompanying Burning Shores DLC will be bundled up with the upcoming Complete Edition of Horizon Forbidden West.
Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition Platforms
Since no platforms were mentioned, we can be certain that it will be coming to PlayStation 5, but whether any other platform will get the bundled version is uncertain. The Complete Edition making it to the PlayStation 4 seems very unlikely, or maybe even impossible considering how the Burning Shores DLC completely skipped the PS4. This was likely due to technical limitations since the DLC allows players to take to the skies by riding different machines, and that comes with its own performance overheads that the PlayStation 4 simply might not be able to handle.
Sony has been on a roll when it comes to releasing PlayStation exclusives on PC. and Horizon Forbidden West could possibly be the latest addition to that list. But the timing makes it seem a bit unlikely, for now.
The main reason for this is that Sony usually waits quite a few years before putting its best exclusives on PC, if ever, and Horizon Forbidden West came out in early 2022. So we might have to wait until late 2024 before we can play Horizon Forbidden West with a mouse and keyboard at glorious FPS rates. But since the first game in the series, Horizon Zero Dawn, made it to PC, there is no reason why Horizon Forbidden West will not. On that note, the PC version of Zero Dawn was also dubbed the “Complete Edition” when it came to PC, this gives PC fans some hope for a PC release sometime in the near future.
In any case, until there is official confirmation from Sony or Guerrilla Games, we recommend taking his Horizon Forbidden West leak with a grain of salt. If there is an official announcement, you’ll find out about it here first.
