Starfield offers players a variety of different choices so that they can go about missions in whatever way they best see fit. In one of these missions, The Empty Nest, you will come across a woman named Shaw. Here, you will have the opportunity to not persuade her that you will leave the area or kill her. We are here to provide you with both choices and whether you should persuade or kill Shaw in Starfield.

Like most choices inย Starfield if you decide to kill someone, then you’re usually going to be rewarded with more items or credits or something along those lines. Here, that’s not the case and you should really pursue the persuasion instead as you’ll be in better shape if you do that. Of course, you can kill her if you so choose, but it really won’t be helpful to you if you do. With respect to our playthrough, we decided to persuade her using the attempt and having her help us out for those moments immediately afterward. Without any hostility, it made the rest of The Empty Nest as easy as it needed to be.

What Happens If You Persuade Shaw?

There are technically two ways to persuade Shaw. You can pay her 4,000 credits, and she’ll back down, or you can successfully attempt a persuasion check on her. In doing either of these things, you will be free to go, and she’ll actually help you fight off some Ashta immediately afterward. Of course, persuading her might not be in your wheelhouse, and paying 4,000 credits seems like a pretty steep decision, so you might feel that killing her is the best thing to do.

What Happens If You Kill Shaw?

If you decide to kill Shaw, the rest of her gang will also attack you as well as the Ashta that that would have helped you fight off. This decision makes things a little harder as you are trying to defend both yourself and your crew against Ashta’s team as well as the beasts. You won’t get any extra credits besides what is on their bodies when you loot them. Even then, there isn’t anything of note that you can really obtain after having done this.
