My Hero Ultra Rumble is Bandai Namco’s latest battle royale game set in the My Hero Academia universe. So far, the game has good reviews due to its easy-to-learn gameplay and iconic characters from the series, and if that wasn’t enough, it’s also free to play. Due to the latter, there are many things players need to grind for, and that includes characters. Even if this title does a terrific job of explaining many of its things, getting new heroes and villains isn’t too clear. Don’t fret, though, because we’ll tell you how to unlock new characters in My Hero Ultra Rumble.

The game has two categories of characters: heroes and villains. So far, there are more heroes than villains, which fits the series’ setting. While they are divided, the only difference is a few things they can do in the game, like rescuing civilians or threatening them. And while the game gives you a few ones for free, players will love to know how to unlock all characters in My Hero Ultra Rumble to add them to their roster. There are two ways to do this:

  • Provisionally, by using Rental Tickets.
  • Permanently, by using Character Tickets.

For the first one, you get three Rental Tickets. These will let you rent a character for a match. Use up all three, and you need to get more by doing missions. For the permanent character unlock, you need Character Tickets. You can buy Character Tickets with Hero Souls, a currency you get after using the game’s gacha system. After you get a duplicate item, you’ll get Hero Souls; 300 are needed for a Character Ticket.

The process to unlock characters in My Hero Ultra Rumble might take a while, especially due to its free-to-play nature and the grinding mechanics tied to it. Still, the game is quite fun and not too punishing for new players. Provided you have a good team, you’ll become the best hero or villain on the battlefield and unlock new characters in no time.
