One of the items added to the New World Rise of the Angry Earth is the Featherweight artifact. It is a rare Artifact Chest piece with the even rarer Weightless perk. This Artifact reduces the maximum cooldown by 4% and receives 4.2% less damage for ranged and physical attacks. However, it is randomly found, so you must farm this powerful chest armor.
Locating the Featherweight Artifact in New World
You can get a Featherweight artifact in New World by raiding Ner’Mur at Fungal Ridge. Ner’Mur spawns infinitely, making acquiring the Artifact easier. Nevertheless, you may have to raid the boss several times before Featherweight drops as loot. Some players have gotten the Artifact after around three to five raids.
Ner’Mur is weak against thrust and fire damage. So, any weapon and armor that deals thrust and fire damage will help you defeat it. Because of its infinite spawning, you will not need any unique build to beat it.
Also, you can collect Tanglevine Gloves, Tanglevine Shoes, Tanglevine Pants, Tanglevine Crown, Tanglevine Shirt, Tanglevine Greatsword, Tanglevine Longsword, Tanglevine Great Axe, and Tanglevine Flail as drops from this raid.
Below are the steps you need to follow to get to the location of Ner’Mur:
- Go to the Firefly’s Vantage.
- Head to Scalefang Enclave and follow the road to the hilltop from there.
- Ner’Mur will be at the top of the hill.
- Fight with the beast until it drops the Featherweight artifact in New World.

The most important perk that comes with this Artifact is it is Weightless. So, when considering light, medium, or heavy equipment loads, this Artifact suits all these categories. It will be a complimentary piece that will not put any weight on your equipment load.
The good news is that the Featherweight in New World is not difficult to farm. You can get it after a few attempts, which will take 10-15 minutes. However, remember, some players had to fight the battles for around two hours to get it. If you are lucky, you may even get it on the first try! It’s all about defeating Ner’Mur repeatedly until you get the Artifact.
