Planet Coaster, the spiritual successor to RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, is ironing out some of the final bugs before it hits PC in November. As anyone who has played any theme park development sim before knows, one of the joys of the genre is creating dangerously unsafe coasters and waiting to see what happens. Frontier Developments, the developers behind Planet Coaster (who also developed RollerCoaster Tycoon 3), are well aware of your sadistic tendencies. As we await the game’s release, they decided to drop this trailer. It showcases the pure joy that is the coaster crash. Behold:

Look at the joy. Those park guests love every second of being annihilated by that coaster.

Planet Coaster has been in alpha testing for month now, and it is bringing some heavy anticipation with it. Frontier Developments released what many view as the best theme park sim of all time, and Planet Coaster appears to be a true sequel in all but name to the RollerCoaster Tycoon series. It will provide all manner of customization of buildings and rides, including a way to download the creations of other players. More importantly than that, it includes the ability to launch a roller coaster into a crowd of people. Michael Gapper, who works PR for Frontier Developments, calls it “guest bowling.”

So, we just announced and demoed Coaster Crashes in Planet Coaster. Guest bowling is alive and well in 2016. https://t.co/ZRmZ2pqEsk

If you absolutely need a park management sim in your life right now, check out our Early Access review of Parkitect. It’s a pretty fulfilling stopgap before Planet Coaster releases on November 17.

Excited for Planet Coaster? Have you somehow managed to play a park simulator without launching a roller coaster off the tracks? Let us know in the comments below!
